Course Description:

The rules for a retiring generation of baby boomers have changed. Learn how those changes affect you as you strive to help your clients.

This course is intended to give strategies for assessing financial positions that help your clients. Many of the retirement strategies utilized by our parents have grown outdated and may no longer have the same application they once did. The class will compare the old paradigms to the new paradigms of today as you help clients retire in the 21st century. You will learn about the effects of Social Security taxation as well as the common pitfalls in retirement. This is an executive summary of an eight-part adult education course taught by educators of a national non-profit in our area.

Learning Objectives:

• Evaluate the impact of the latest tax law changes on retirement
• Determine if there is enough money for retirement
• Use the 3 basic types of retirement accounts to maximize cash flow in retirement
• Evaluate the benefits of a Roth Conversion
• Maximize Social Security income
• Reduce, or eliminate unwanted expenses or delays with estate planning
• Understand when a portfolio is truly “diversified”
