Speakers: 

Greg White CPA - presenting a 2 Hour Tax Update

Greg White, CPA, has practiced tax for more than 40 years. He is founder, shareholder, and President of CPA firm WGN, P.S. in Seattle, Washington. Greg served as an Adjunct Professor at the Golden Gate University’s Seattle Campus over a 14-year period. He is licensed to practice in U.S. Tax Court and has argued cases before the Tax Court. He has been named a “Top 50” IRS Practitioner by CPA Magazine.

 

 

George Koutelieris CPA, MS-Tax - presenting a 2 Hour Tax Update

George J. Koutelieris, CPA, MS-Tax, has practiced tax accounting for more than 22 years. He is the managing shareholder of the CPA firm Johnson & Shute, P.S. in Bellevue, Washington. He specializes in all phases of tax work, such as planning and consulting on complex tax transactions including formations, liquidations, mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sales, and tax representation for closely held businesses and their owners. In addition, George is a frequent lecturer for organizations providing professional education to other tax CPAs on the west coast and has written and presented live courses and webinars for the last 8 years. Because of his understanding of tax law and ability to make it understandable, George is someone other CPAs turn to when they have difficult tax questions. 

 

 

Adam Jobes, Special Agent in Charge, IRS - Criminal Investigation

Adam Jobes is currently the Special Agent in Charge of the Seattle Field Office, overseeing IRS Criminal Investigation’s operations in Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, Alaska, and Guam.  Prior to this selection, he served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge in the Seattle Field Office, as well as the Resident Agent in Charge in IRS Headquarters Refund Crimes.  Prior to this assignments, he was the Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Barbados from 2015-2018.  He began his career in the Kansas City area, serving as a Supervisory Special Agent and Special Agent, beginning his career in 2001.  He graduated from Missouri Western University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

 

 

Lisa Salado, Territory Manager, IRS - Field Collections

Lisa Salado has 32 years of IRS service, all in Field Collection. She began her career as a Collection Group Secretary, working through all of the Revenue Officer ranks, working nine years as a frontline Collection GM including managing the ATAT Specialty Team and has been a Territory Manager since June 2020.
Lisa has an Associate’s degree in Equine Science from Santa Rosa Junior College and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. She lives in Sonoma County with her Dachshund, two cats and eight chickens.
Michelle Baldwin, Supervisory Revenue Officer, IRS - International Field Collection, Santa Rosa, CA

Michelle Baldwin is a Supervisory Revenue Officer in International Field Collection, Santa Rosa California. In this role, she oversees the planning, controlling, and processing of Field Collection activities including investigations conducted for Insolvency proceedings, Decedents’ Estate, Offer in Compromise, and determining the financial responsibilities of guarantors and others who may be liable for payment of a taxpayer’s indebtedness.

Michelle is the National Key Manager for Small Business/Self Employed (SB/SE) Hiring and Training Initiative. In this capacity, she works closely with Group Managers, On-the-Job Instructors, Collection Training, and Executive staff members to ensure new Revenue Officers receive the support, resources, and tools needed to become successful in their positions.

In 2010, Michelle started her career as a Revenue Officer with the Internal Revenue Service. Prior to coming to the agency, Michelle spent several years working in the mortgage industry. Having a passion for leadership, Michelle motivates, empowers, and encourages others to excel by listening, providing support, and leading by example. She promotes a work environment where happiness, positivity, and innovation are encouraged, and employees are provided with the tools they need to be prepared, creative, and successful.

Michelle has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sonoma State University. She lives in Sonoma County with her husband, two children - ages 7 and 10, and their yellow lab.

 

Timothy McCormally, Special Counsel, IRS - Office of Professional Responsibility -  presenting 2 hours of Ethics

Timothy McCormally joined the IRS’s Office of Professional Responsibility as a Special Counsel in February 2021, and from September 2022 to April 2023, he served as OPR’s Acting Director. Previously he served 7 years as a director in KPMG’s Washington National Tax Practice, 30 years with Tax Executives Institute (both as general counsel and executive director), and 6 years as a tax associate with the predecessor of Eversheds Sutherland. Timothy received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He is a frequent speaker and author on topics of tax ethics and professionalism, has published a book of poetry, and served four years on the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Counsel, including one year as Chair of the overall group.

 

 

John Blakeman, Senior Tax Specialist, IRS - Stakeholder Liaison Division, Portland, OR

 

John Blakeman is a Senior Tax Specialist with the IRS Stakeholder Liaison Division in Portland, Oregon, and works to provide education and outreach to the tax practitioner community as well as small businesses. John began his career with the IRS in 2003 as an Internal Revenue Agent, working a wide variety of individual, corporate, and partnership tax return cases. John also worked many abusive tax avoidance transaction, employment tax, National Research Program, and Earned Income Tax Credit Due Diligence cases. John joined the Stakeholder Liaison team in 2008, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Portland State University.

 

 

IRS Tax Exempt/Government Entities, Employee Plans - Donald Kieffer

Donald Kieffer is a tax law specialist in the IRS Employee Plans Technical Guidance function. A 1991 graduate of the Seton Hall University School of Law, he is admitted to the State bars of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association.
